ACCTM to hold lunch meeting
The spring meeting of ACCTM has been scheduled for lunch at Ryan’s Steakhouse on March 27 at 1:00 pm. The plan is to have Fran Bush from Booklovers’ Bookstore give a talk on books that can be used in the mathematics classroom. For example, there is a children’s book called, “The King’s Chessboard” by David Birch which helps students understand more about what exponential growth really means.
You will not need to reserve a space ahead; just come to Ryan’s that day for lunch and pay as you enter. Ryan’s may add a 15% tip to the bill right away because of our large group.
As always, our meeting will include a few nice door prizes and when the newsletter is ready, you’ll also see that you can apply for a scholarship/grant from the ACCTM. Membership dues are just $5.00 per year.
Please contact us if you have any questions. We will provide additional information here as it becomes available. Even if you don’t want to eat at Ryan’s or you don’t think you’d enjoy the book talk, it really is nice when you have a chance to speak to other math teachers from different schools, as well as in different grade levels about your subject area, so try to join us.
